An Ambitious "What Might Be" . . .

A little something I'm thinking of:

The Rough Draft:

My two basic rules:

1. No going over the same road twice.

2. No crossing the same state twice unless absolutely necessary (New York and New Hampshire, as they cork up the Northeast)

The Refined Draft:

Leg 1 - The Southwest

Leg 2 - The South - Atlantic

L
eg 3 - The South - Appalachia

Leg 4 - The Northeast

Leg 5 - The Midwest

Leg 6 - The Great Plains

Leg 7 - The Rockies/West Coast

Total: 21,009 miles.

I'm 35 . . .

By age 32 . . .

I keep hearing, "by age 32, Alexander the Great had conquered most of the known world," or "at 32, Jesus Christ had started one of the world's most powerful religions." Well, people fail to mention something else they were at 32 . . . dead. (something about the brightest stars burning the fastest)

I counter with these two figures: at 32, Genghis Khan was still just leader of a small tribe, fighting and joining other tribes to forge what would eventually become the Mongol Horde. At 32, The Prophet Muhammad was just another Saudi merchant, years from entering caves where he would meditate, find new meaning in his life, and start one of the world's most powerful religions. Khan lived to be 65, Muhammad 62, very old men by the standards of their times.

I'm 35, I'm just getting started.

No, I'm not dead . . .

Well, the last year and some has seen a lot of changes, not to mention been a blurr.

Thing is, most of my thoughts have gone the way of the Tweet. Just the way things have evolved, I guess. To see those, feel free to go here.

This blog is far from dead, too many of my thoughts require a lot more than 140 characters to describe. For now, they must remain in my head.

The time is coming, and when I get my stuff in full order, this will shine again.

Getting Out of The Funk . . .

One hour and fifty minutes past Ideal Time (out of the shower by 8 AM) . . .

Well, I was in a bit of a depression the last couple of weeks, and I'm coming out of it. Strangely, the motivation to go to jury duty this Tuesday may have been part of what helped me.

Oh, and this funny commercial helped; the end not only reveals the product, but is a great payoff!:

Lazy Recovery . . .

Two hours and twenty minutes past Ideal Time (out of the shower by 8 AM) . . .

After a rather messy week, a messy weekend, and a messy Monday, today turned out surprisingly good.

Not much more to say about today . . .

Facebook: Good Riddance

I kept hearing about it; I heard it started in Yale, or Harvard, or one of the big colleges; so I figure, maybe I should try Facebook.

Well, I end up finding my posts are tightly limited; I find lots of "networking" with either people I already know, or people I once knew and could not care less about; I find lots of inane requests of bizarre games; basically one big, waste, of, time.

Anyway, last night, I finally cut my losses, and deactivated my account. Oh, and a great "they're really that stupid" moment: hours after an e-mail confirmation of my account deactivation, an e-mail reminding me of "Facebook Birthdays," and links to sends "gifts," or post on "walls." Utter, morons.

In other news, my left ear's infected again, as it was just after Comic-Con. Early treatment has it in flux, so I'm not sure if it'll intensify or fade away. Either way, I won't let it affect my walking.
