Lazy Recovery . . .

Two hours and twenty minutes past Ideal Time (out of the shower by 8 AM) . . .

After a rather messy week, a messy weekend, and a messy Monday, today turned out surprisingly good.

Not much more to say about today . . .

Messy Messy . . .

One hour and forty minutes past Ideal Time (out of the shower by 8 AM).

Not much to say; a lot of missed opportunities, a few to many obligations that popped up, too many f'ups on my part. The best I can say is that I can see things working well if I fall into line. The catching up continues.

Oh yeah, my Tweets.

Gettin' Back in the Groove . . .

Two and a half hours past Ideal Time (out of the shower by 8 AM).

Still recovering from the big cons, though this feels like the week where things really return to normal.

Honestly, not that much more to say, as I still have some major internet catching up to do. That big TV list is coming, along with the others, and a few more updates to that movie list.

One Year; Happy May Day!

Two hours past Ideal Time . . .

I won't go into much detail about today, but I still had to mention the one big thing: It's been one year!

Yup, it was one year ago today that I started true posts here!

. . .

Ummm, yeah, that's keeping it short.

Exactly One Month . . .

Two hours past Ideal Time (out of the shower by 8 AM) . . .

Well, back from Peru, back from a little side trip to Las Vegas, and back to typing here!

Right now, it's all about catching up on what I missed while gone, and what I keep missing while catching up; almost an endless cycle! Of course, it's all about time, and having lots of it available. Next: Anime Expo and Comic-Con; anything done until then would likely be compromised, so they're my focus now. After I'm done with them, things should get pretty interesting!

Details of the Peru trip will be told, bit by bit, over time. Sometimes it has to come as a trickle.

T-Minus Two Days; Home Stretch . . .

Two days to go, and I feel fine! Seriously, I have a weird way of getting seriously sick before critical events.

A bit of a weird Sunday, with laundry to be done tomorrow in preparation for the trip.

In one of his better performances, the Nostalgia Critic gets epic!:

I likely won't be able to post tomorrow; not for a while in fact, depending on what I do in Peru. Tomorrow will be a day of laundry, bed sheet changes, Advantage-ing Charlotte, and overall preparing for the trip. Should be an interesting day.

T-Minus Four Days; One More Weekend . . .

Rough morning on several levels; a lot of messiness, but things have smoothed out. It's become a rather mundane day, other than a big weekend ahead of me, and a bigger week beyond.

T-Minus Six Days; Lazy Wednesday . . .

One hour and fifteen minutres past Ideal Time . . .

Not much big to do today, mostly viewing cued programs, some dating back two weeks, some way more. Oh, and enjoy some empanadas.

I noticed an interesting pattern on History (formerly The History Channel): they air two hour specials, and if they do well enough they become series. I may be wrong about some of these, but Dogfights: the Greatest Air Battles became Dogfights, Alaska: Dangerous Territory became Tougher in Alaska, Street Gangs: A Secret History became Gangland, American Eats: History on a Bun became American Eats, Bible Battles became Battles BC. Makes me wonder if Hippies, Mou
ntain Men, or Hillbilly: The True Story have a future.

My podcasts, at least the ones I listen to
most regularly, are all anime-related. Otaku Generation is the most general when it comes to topics, covering a lot beyond anime. Anime Pulse is far more anime-centric, and more hardcore period. Right Stuf's Anime Today is more polite and official in its methods, sponsored by actual anime company Right Stuf.

Getting the Week Over With . . .

One hour and twenty minutes past Ideal Time (out of the shower by 8 AM) . . .

A good bit of DST, going to see Watchmen, and a major repair/reboot to my main computer all contributed to knocking me for a loop. Anyway, I hope this post means I'm back.

Brain Age Day, not much more to say otherwise, maybe in another post.

Recovering . . .

One hour and twenty minutes past Ideal Time (out of the shower by 8 AM) . . .

The big birthday thing, the Super Bowl (another good one), and anot
her PPV didn't help; I've also gotten a little to much back into my Sims 2 life. Still, I've learned not to focus so much on the web, and get back into other aspects of my life. Other than that, not much has happened in the ~3 weeks since my last post; well, my ear infection seems to have gone away.

33

One hour and forty-five minutes past Ideal Time . . .

Well, finally turned 33. Yup, 33 years ago, I was born. That's about it. The traditional trip to Gennaro's will be withheld 'til tomorrow, as something big comes tonight.

The big thing today was my car: got a new battery, got 'er washed, and got the gas tank topped off. Not much else to say there.

Old Car, Dead Battery . . .

One hour and forty minutes past Ideal Time . . .

Just doing a routine turn on of my not-used-in-a-while car revealed that my battery had gone dead; looks like it's time to get a new battery, the current one is way overdue for a replacement. Also, besides a reminder to turn on my car once in a while, looks like I'll also pay a visit to the car wash, and top off the gas tank while gas is still fairly cheap.

Oh yeah, gotta finish reading Watchmen before March 6. This could be really good, or really bad; as always, fanboys will provide the ultimate barometer.

Back in the Rhythm . . .

Two hours and twenty minutes past Ideal Time (out of the shower by 8 AM) . . .

Not much to say: bank deposit; WWE PPV over the weekend; Jeopardy Online Testing; Super Bowl coming up, along with my birthday; yeah, I'll get to the job applications, CSUN thing, that possible Air Force Reserve thing, my future is at stake and I'm aware . . .

Though weaker, the ear infection persists, along with that cough; I'll be calling for cancelation opeinings at the clinic this week . . .

The Big Return - Ch-ch-changes!

One hour and forty minutes past Ideal Time (out of the shower by 8 AM) . . .

Well, it's been a lot of cleaning, Las Vegas, installing, re-installing, catching up, and redoing my schedule, but I'm back! Here's the big thing: going to sleep and getting up on time are now critical, so I'll be more willing to just set my internet surfing for another day. In the long run, this should greatly improve things once I get a job, or get back to CSUN . . . well, "if" is likely more accurate . . .

Health is the big thing, as I've developed an ear infection gets worse or better day to day, got a flu shot yesterday, and continue to deal with that persistent cough from last year's Thanksgiving cold. Still, I've returned to the morning exercises, though the long walks won't be returning for a while. Time will tell how all this should work out.

Looking Good . . .

Fifty minutes past Ideal Time . . .

I'd say I'm "aiming for 10," but now I'm taking it easy on my way there.

Civilization IV: Colonization, or "Colonization 2,
" was released this week; I might eventually get it. Yes, it's pretty much Colonization, with a few updates, using the Civilization IV engine. One way or the other, more proof Sid Meier is a god of gaming.

Making proper hard boiled eggs, two at a time: in four turns, turn on, turn up, turn down, turn off. Each done at 10 minute intervals, helped by Online Stopwatch:
- Turn on (first ring): turning on to a low flame, after having let eggs soak/assimilate for the first 10 minutes.
- Turn up (second ring): raise the flame a bit higher.
- Turn down (third ring): Actually, add water, so "water down" works better, but ruins the "turn" flow.
- Turn off (fourth ring): eggs are ready! Pull out, let cool, enjoy later.

Flowing Smoothly . . .

One and a half hours past Ideal Time . . .

A nice recovery from yesterday, even got a shower in, and all perfect flow with how busy tomorrow will be. Not much to say beyond that . . .

Oh, the "Ant War of 2008" has been won, the ants reduced to a nuisance from invaders! Peppermint oil around the hole they used to enter, those bait/traps, and that lucky mass-spraying outside turned out to be enough. I'm now using Elmer's to seal the hole itself; there should be no more trouble for a while; at least until next summer, or heavy rain.
