Sweet n' Sour, The AX '08 Experience . . .

Six, maybe Six and a half hours past Ideal Time (out of the shower by 8 AM); considering my condition, that surprisingly uplifting. Anyway, as much as I wanted to really enjoy Anime Expo, I'll have to settle for just enjoy. I was also hoping for more posts from AX, but the aforementioned condition made that difficult. Nothing like severe diarrhea, dehydration, fatigue, and a slight fever among other things to sour an otherwise sweet occasion.

AX Day! Whimper . . .

Four hours and forty minutes past ideal time. Well, I'm at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel, finished registering for Anime Expo, walked/scouted the path to and from hotel to convention center . . . and I feel like crap. I don't know what kind of bug I have in me (still suspect salmonella), but the digestive problems have now become a fever with respiratory problems, a tender/runny nose in particular. Here's to waking up better tomorrow; photos eventually. Now, to plan the next four days . . .

T-Minus One Day . . . Ghaaa!

Five hours and ten minutes past Ideal time . . . with no shower . . . I am still not feeling well! I now strongly suspect I have salmonella poisoning. All I'll admit is that I have a snack which includes a raw egg every Saturday morning, though it's never made me sick before. The best I can say is that the diarrhea was not as bad today as it was yesterday. Either way, not good conditioning on the eve of my departure for Anime Expo. Looks like I'll be making extensive use of the shuttles, as even walking to the bathroom has become tiring. It should last no more than a week, just in time for the closing ceremonies . . .

T-Minus Three Days . . .

Another early wake-up followed by a lousy follow-through; this time some of what I'll just call "digestive issues" plagued me last night, possibly impacting this morning. Anyway, still a fairly fast breakfast, with everything else afterwards.

Aunt Alicia came with the almost ready Roy Mustang costume, just in time for Anime Expo. I'll have to find a better way to thank her in the future; at least her clothes-designing talent is getting some use. I'll be posting family pics eventually.

One hour and a half past Ideal Time; with nothing to do but a Brain Age Day, things went almost too smoothly today! I'd say I'm looking forward to how much I can get done tomorrow, but I know what happens when I get optimistic . . .

T-minus six days to Anime Expo; added to that, I got the check from VPI for the last of the ASG visits. Next, Charlotte is due for a regular vet check-up! Oh, and I can turn in the papers for the visit that signaled the beginning of our little ordeal; 'bout time that got done . . .

Yes, I'm aware George Carlin's dead; even if it was his time, a true legend passes on . . .
